SFRO - Scottish Father's Rights Organisation

“... the system for determining contact with children and custody is failing, leaving access rows between divorced or separated parents unresolved.”

The "Scottish Father's Rights Organisation" has been founded as a result of the Scottish Parliaments failure to recognise and implement equal rights for unmarried and married fathers who have limited or are denied any access at all to their children. When a relationship between parents breaks down, automatically the current law favours the mothers right to custody of the child/children regardless of circumstances. This is a blatant injustice and bias against all fathers whether married or not, that must be changed.

In a society where births outside marriage have increased from 10% in the 1960s to more than 40% in the year 2000 (Civitas) and steadily rising, more and more fathers have found themselves being denied contact, denied having a say in their Childs well-being or dictated to by the mother on when they can or cannot see their children. Not just Fathers, but brothers, sisters, grandparents and extended family members all over the country are being denied contact, Why ? Sometimes, "it's just not what the mother wants". More often than not, children are used as "weapons" against fathers and we are being deprived of our right to have a loving and lasting relationship with our children, This must stop!

The ones affected most because of this ? OUR CHILDREN.

If you are a father and feel the current law does not give you fair rights, a concerned grandparent that misses out on loving your grandchild or even if you are someone that just believes in equal rights, you can make a difference, please consider joining.
